Vaccination for Cats
These cover the vaccinations that are essential to protect your pet from fatal diseases. We recommend routine vaccination against Cat flu (Feline Herpesvirus and Feline Calicivirus), Feline Infectious Enteritis and Feline Leukaemia Virus.
We recommend that these vaccines are given at 8 and 12 weeks of age for the primary course.
We recommend that an annual booster vaccination is given to protect against these diseases. There are vaccines that last longer than one year, which we currently do not recommend due to the level of adjuvants contained.
These vaccines may be required for travelling abroad or in particular situations
- Rabies: If you wish to travel out side of the United Kingdom you will be required to have your pet vaccinated against rabies.
Vaccinations are also available against Chlamydophila Felis. For further information and to assess your animal’s risk from this disease, please make an appointment to consult the veterinary surgeon.
